PAT testing ( Portable Appliance Testing ) is necessary to test electrical appliances and devices for their safe use. The purpose of these tests is to prevent electrical accidents in the workplace that could lead to fires and other hazards. Although security problems can often be detected visually, it is important that the instruments are tested on the PAT, as some defects can only be detected by testing the equipment.
