Various types of electrical safety certificates / reports
There are four types of certificates or electrical safety reports:
1 - Electrical Installation Certificate
This is an electrician’s certificate stating that the electrical
installation certificate is safe to use at the date and time
indicated on the certificate. This is necessary for all basic installations,
including consumer units, new circuits and additional lights / sockets in
special places such as a kitchen or bathroom.
2 - Certificate for the installation of small electrical work
This is similar to the EIC, but is used when the electrical
installation is negligible, for example, additional sockets or lighting
fixtures are not in a special place.
3 - Report on the status of electrical equipment (popular with lessors)
These reports have superseded the previous “periodic
electrical report”, but essentially the same thing.
The law states that the landlord must complete one of them
before the new tenant moves in. Ideally, homeowners purchasing a new home
should ideally complete it, especially if the property is old and the wiring
has not been updated.
You will not receive the certificate as such, but you will
receive a status report.
4 - Part P Notifications
Many electrical projects require building management notice.
This can be achieved in one of two ways:
1 - Using a qualified electrician who is a member of the
Part P self-certification scheme, these electricians can "independently
certify" their work.
2 - When hiring a qualified electrician who is not part of
the circuit and notifying Building Control on their own, a fee is usually
charged for this, since non-participants cannot pass certification on their
own.

Plymouth Electrical Installation Status Report (EICR) Periodic Testing
Plymouth Electrical Status Report (EICR) Periodic testing,
periodic testing of fixed wires, periodic testing or PIR are now replaced by
Electrical Installation Reporting (EICR)
Checking electrical installations - this is checking and
checking electrical installations in accordance with the current version of BS
7671 (electrical installation rules). Recently, it has become known as a report
on the status of an electrical installation or an EICR certificate. We have
received permission from Stroma to conduct electrical status reports. Please
see below price guide.
How much is the report on the installation conditions of electrical
equipment?
The prices below fully include all tests.
EICR Certificate Cost
Landlord Electrical Certificate (Studio) £ 89
Landlord Electrical Certificate (1 bed) £ 99
Landlord Electrical Certificate (2 beds) £ 119
Landlord Electrical Certificate (3 beds) £ 129
Landlord Electrical Certificate (4 beds) £ 139
Landlord Electrical Certificate (5 places) £ 159
What part of the installation are you checking?
It depends on what kind of copy of the last report on the
state of electricity you have, but if you do not, we conduct a full test and
check 100% of all available sockets, switches and accessories, in addition to
the main part of the test in the consumer unit. The only items that are not
subject to verification are agreed restrictions when something is not
available. Keep in mind that some companies offer EICR only a spot check of
your installation, sometimes it only checks for 25%, which is not very good.
You would not like it if you took your car for maintenance, and they checked
only two of the four wheels and missed other items! During the execution of the
report, the power should be turned off for a while.

• 5 years for commercial premises
• 5 years for a rented house or every time a property
prepares to be rented out.

The periodic test must also be completed.
• Each time a property prepares for rental
• Before selling real estate or buying previously occupied
real estate.
As a certified Stroma tester and installer, we will inspect
and test all the details of your fixed-wire electrical distribution system to
ensure its safety: from the main power input point to outlets, lighting
fixtures and other wiring accessories, including everything in between. Our
engineers have the experience necessary to identify defects in the wiring system
that could be dangerous, especially those that could result in a fire or
injury. We fully understand the importance of periodically testing wired wires
for the safety of your employees, customers and the general public in all cases
when we inspect premises.
EICR classification codes
Each observation found in the EICR will indicate a level of
concern for the safety of the installation and will be assigned a
classification code from the list below.
Code C1: danger present. Danger of injury. Immediate corrective
action required.
Code C2: potentially dangerous. Urgent corrective action
required.
Code C3: Improvement recommended.
